Jay Toups is an internationally acclaimed adventure photographer and filmmaker. At a young age he began pursuing photography and converted his vehicle into a home to seek inspiration while being immersed in nature. He has spent many years traveling and making a life of exploration and art on the road.
After gaining a degree in art history, Jay was heavily inspired by the dark and emotive nature of renaissance paintings and the way that color can tell stories. His passion for art and the outdoors soon evolved into being a full time artist, working with art galleries and curators around the world and having publications such as Time Magazine, National Geographic, and The North Face.
A strong believer in the way that humans and nature are inexplicably connected, Jay’s work becomes less about the places he photographs and more about the way those places make him feel; he hopes those feelings of connection translate to your own life and emotions.
“Storyteller, seeker of beauty in the chaos of the mind.”
