Jay Toups is an internationally acclaimed fine art photographer. At a young age he began pursuing photography and converted a retired fire rescue truck into a home, seeking inspiration while being immersed in nature full time. Since then he has spent many years traveling and making a life of exploration and art on many continents and in many different self-built expedition vehicles.
After gaining a degree in art history, Jay was heavily inspired by the dark and emotive nature of Renaissance and Romanticist paintings and the way that color can tell stories. With exhibitions from Time Square and Art Basel to the Musée d’Orsay in the heart of Paris, he has worked with art galleries and curators around the world along with publications such as Time Magazine, National Geographic, and The North Face.
A strong believer in the way that humans and nature are inexplicably connected, Jay’s work becomes less about the places he photographs and more about the way those places make him feel; he hopes those feelings of connection translate to your own life and your own story.
